The Pear At Parley Dining Pub

An environment of reclining refreshment, diversion, fun and repose.

Set back away from the busy main road in West Parley – and easily accessible from both Poole and Bournemouth – The Pear at Parley is approached down a long, tree-lined driveway, flanked on both sides by green belt land and grazing horses. The dining pub nestles amongst 5 acres of open woodlands within a picturesque riverside setting and has exceptional views across the West Parley area. There is also access to the river Stour.

The whole emphasis of The Pear at Parley is to offer an impeccable, caring service in a relaxed and cheerfully informal environment.  To create refreshment, diversion, fun and cheerfulness.  Whether just popping in for a drink in the bar, or dining in the beautiful Orangery styled restaurant – you will be greeted in an informal space of contentedness by our staff and resident co-owner, Mark Miller.

Also, when the weather is favourable its stunning outlook lends itself to offering additional Al Fresco lunch or dinner on the terrace or as a picnic on the lawn with shade from centuries-old oaks.  And with the new addition of our Stonebake Kitchen you can now enjoy delicious flatbreads overlooking the beautiful grounds.

The Pear at Parley is an independent dining pub and under this new ownership has been totally refurbished.  The owners have long held a dream to offer a dining experience that provide its customers with a desire to cosy down, relax and enjoy!  The Pear at Parley is that gem of a place!

Great Food

The Pear at Parley offers seasonally changing menus, mouth-watering and perfectly prepared, with much of its food being sourced from local suppliers.

You will be spoilt for choice with a wide range of sharing platters or light bites, as well as must-try main courses and devilish desserts that you will not be able to decline.

Don’t forget to try the signature dishes of The Pear Pancetta & Walnut Tartlet or the Iberico Pork Chop, with chorizo crumb, Bramley apple potato cake and spring greens.

Our Team

The Pear at Parley opened in May 2018 with owner managers Mark Miller and Matthew Martinez.

Mark and Matthew worked together for over 20 years, with 6 years on the popular island of Mallorca developing a passion for Mediterranean food, and more recently with over 12 years in the Dorset area.

Tragically, Matthew passed away in February 2019.  He is sorely missed, and we have dedicated our new Stonebake Kitchen in his memory.

BH Stars Awards 

We are proud to announce that, not only are we Semi-Finalists in the BHStars Awards for Best Sunday Roast of the Year, but we have also been surprised with a nomination for Best Pub/Bar of the Year!

We are thrilled and humbled to be through to the Finals, which will be held on 29th March 2020.
